I’m a happy Wahoo this morning.
I love Free Speech and, according to constitutional law attorney Greg Lukianoff, the University of Virginia (UVA) is a place where one can disagree without being disagreeable. Out of 248 colleges and universities in a recent ranking for free speech culture conducted by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), UVA was the most prestigious institution among those at the top of the listing.
Go Mr. Jefferson’s university!
If you are curious, you may ask how does a university earn a dismal ranking? Simple. The main way to earn a ranking at the absolute bottom of the deck…deplatform a speaker.
My fair Harvard came in dead last for free speech protection. Embarrassing.
Oh Harvard!
See 32:00 to 37:55. “The only school to receive the abysmal ranking. Oh Harvard…”
"When you censor people, it doesn’t change their opinion.” — Greg Lukianoff, Lex Fridman podcast, 397 See 0:00 to 2:10.
I'm in the middle of listening to Greg Lukianoff and it is fascinating to listen to him.
I love when someone just states what I call 'stuff and things' that are facts.
I actually read "The Righteous Mind-Why good people are divided by politics and religion", by Johnathan Haidt, last year.
I checked it out of the library on three separate occasions and read it section by section, so that I could really digest the information.
AND...your book "Letters in Black and White" arrived today.
I am flying from Arizona to Boston on Monday, October 2nd, so the timing is perfect for reading on the plane. [unless I gaze out the window too much?!?!]
I will be going on a Church History Tour for 15 days, so I hope to be able to read in the evenings too...
Wahoowa!!!
