Life is the green mountain range against the clear Sonoma blue sky. We should be grateful for abundance left to us by our ancestors. If one pays attention to life in the moment, one will smile and feel life. We are the dreams of our great grandparents who could only work in the post office. And we are the echoes of great great grandparents who purchased a summer place in Sag Harbor. All of the ribbons of our ancestors are in us.
Let us give thanks this week for those who made us possible, the sharecropper and the millionaire, the butler and the clerk of the court, the unsung and the remembered. Let us live in pietas. Let us live life.
Honor thy father and thy mother. All of thy fathers and thy mothers. I think of them often and how through the centuries the various paths taken brought me here.
