You may not agree, but I think of people like Clarence Thomas (yes, I like him, even if his wife is a nut), Condoleezza Rice, and Colin Powell. I’m probably not as big a fan of Barack Obama, but that’s not because I didn’t think he was capable, and I am proud that we had a black president.
Honestly, I get tired of all the complaining when so much has been accomplished in a relatively short time. I mean, I can look back on my great grand parents who lived during the Civil War (yikes!). We’ve ALL come a long way since then. It isn’t that we’re being stopped, it’s that we allow ourselves to believe that we’re being stopped.
Anyway, as Mark said, “Merry Christmas!” We live in complicated times, but haven’t we always? We have achieved so much, and we have so much to be thankful for. Let’s celebrate that!
Yeah, I celebrate the good in the Christmas spirit. Christmas is about abundance of good tidings. I still remember the red wagon I received under the Christmas tree. And Christmas Eve meant family service at our church up the hill and across the railroad tracks on Terminal Avenue. Grandma and (Great) Aunt Betty would carefully prepare brown paper bags for little boys and girls. Nuts of all sorts -- Walnuts, Brazil nuts, Hazel nuts. An apple and candy for the sweet tooth.
Those are my best Christmas Eve memories. Waiting with anticipation to receive a paper bag filled with goodies from Grandma and Aunt Betty.
What a wonderful memory! My mom used to stuff some long cotton stockings she had from when she was a nurse. It sounds weird, but they were perfect. Anyway, she would put the same nuts in the toe of the stocking, and probably some candy (I just remember the nuts). Then she would add some small gifts that she’d wrap individually. One year I got a used desk, so the stocking gifts were things like a pair of scissors, tape, a stapler, etc. I was thrilled!
I have a better message, devoid of all political and social agenda:
Merry Christmas. May the warmth of Christmas, secured by the infant born in Bethlehem, always reign in your Hearts.
A fine Christmas message too.

Merry Christmas to everyone!!!
May we each celebrate Our Savior, Jesus Christ this season. [and all year too]
I am sorry that I haven't been participating much lately.
I had my vacation the first 17 days of October; then met a WoNdErFuL man in October and we are getting married on January 13, 2024.
We both had amazing marriages for a plethora of years, so it is spectacular that we have found each other.
Anywho, I am feeling SO blessed this season and always!
Congratulations! And splendid news to share!! Blessings abound in this world.
