Second, that is one of the best episodes of The Twilight Zone and perhaps of television. Searing, transcendent, necessary, pitch- perfect. I recall it distinctly.
And third, I dare say the best Mad Magazine parody is entitled Hochman's Heroes - from the '60s. It does in satire what Sterling does in stark drama. I can't imagine anyone publishing it today.
