That was a pretty smooth ride on your rollercoaster of many events, people and time periods. Good luck with your health checkups.

There are women who can't move on from 1960. Thirty years from now we'll have white males who can't move on from the attacks on "The Patriarchy."

That's deep, and probably true.

What a mature young man you were. I cannot imagine having the ability to stop and try to understand why others were treating me badly. This is why I keep thinking you would be a good minister: you have a message that resonates. You help me to think, and look more closely at myself. Am I proud of who I am? Do I treat others the way I want to be treated? Can I find some understanding and compassion for the people who aren’t, and don’t? Those things might not be your intention, but just by reading your stories, I find myself thinking a lot more about what matters in life.

Thank you for your minister compliment on Easter Sunday morning. I enjoy looking for the meaning in what I have known and experienced. The meaning of my life and your life -- maybe our purpose is to understand meaning of our existence as best we can. And that's what ministers do. So, maybe I minister with my daily essays in a way that is generative and purposeful. There is essence in life. My desire is to rummage around in my memories for meaning.
